A Fun Run… Who knew?!

Last night we decided to take the boys over to Lifetime Fitness and do one of their summer fun run events.  It was called the Watermelon Fun Run, so I thought, how could it be bad, right?! Oh right…it was running  🙂 Just kidding.

I honestly can’t remember the last time I ran more than 400m at a time…
Maybe a month, maybe two months.  This was going to be interesting.

You could do either a 1.5 mile or a 3 mile run. Rowan really wanted to do 3 and Carson really wanted to do zero eat watermelon. 🙂 Luckily, Ryan joined in so we could each take a kid and go along our merry ways.

Here we are at the start—>

About mile 1—>

These kids really need to learn how to pace themselves.  It wasn’t long before Carson lost gas. ( In his defense it was 89°F and the boys did play at the park for 3 hours in the afternoon. ) So, Ryan stayed back with him and Rowan and I kept going.

We waited for Ryan and Carson to finish and then headed out for lap #2.

We walked a little, ran a little and still finished strong. 3 miles. 30:44 and Rowan got 2nd place boys! WooHoo!

So proud of these little dudes and the watermelon was good too. 🙂

I haven’t ran in a very long time and this was just what I needed. A. Fun. Run.

Thanks Lifetime Fitness for a free, fun, family event!

Sweet. I’m trying to get Henry to run with me, but so far it is a no go.

“Keep up with the Hall Family!” It’s a tough job! And I’m laughing hysterically at “Carson really wanted to do (zero) eat watermelon.” Congrats Rowan on a great run! (Oh, and Kim too of course!)

We have a Roseville 5K in November that I was going to see if anyone from his grade level and parents wanted to do it. I’ve been scheduling playdates all summer/year and am always looking for events/activities to do once summer is done. Sometimes Henry also needs a little competition to get motivated for things like that.
