In honor of my Dad’s birthday, May Day, we had some mandatory things to do on the agenda.
Since my Dad died almost 12 years ago, we can’t celebrate with him…we choose to celebrate his life, talk about him with the boys, and do things he loved on his birthday.
He loved taking care of all things yard related, including cutting the grass. In fact, growing up he owned a landscaping business and my summer job was cutting lawns with him and my brothers. Now I have a soft spot for cutting the grass. Yup, Ryan is a lucky man :). The grass was mowed and trimmed. Sorry Dad, still lots of dandelions!
He also loved trees. So, the boys and I planted a tree.
Can’t see it?! Maybe this will help 🙂
Rowan helped water it. It is actually his tree from his school’s Earth Day Celebration.
Don’t be doubters. This is the one we planted last year. It grew a ton. We love it!
We also spread the watering love to our other baby tree.
The last thing on the “to celebrate” list was ice cream. If I could have drove to Horicon, WI to The Ice Cream Shop I would have! I would have ordered the turtle sundae (his favorite). My mouth is watering thinking about it. This had to do in its place and didn’t disappoint!
