Everybody’s favorite…Thankful Thursday

This past week we had a ton of Christmas fun~

We drove around Lake Phalen and looked at the lights in the park—>

We went to Holz Farm and visited with Santa, Comet and Cupid—>

We watched some of our favorite Christmas movies—>

AND last, but not least, we picked out our Christmas tree and decorated it—>

I am so Thankful to live in a place where you can do so many festive (and free) activities with your family.  The kids have had a blast!

Running has been on the brain~ which is a good thing.

Rowan joined his school’s running club, Happy Feet.  They meet once a week for an hour and run, walk, be active together.  It is so very cool!!!!  Bonus, he LOVED it!  It is the only activity he has enjoyed other than biking (no go on soccer, no go on t-ball).  I guess he is a little like his Mama after all 🙂  There is a kids 5k in March they will participate in and I hope I can run/walk it with him!

Today I went to pick up my Polar Dash and Lucky 7 race packets and schwag.  It is so strange getting a race bib, timing chip weeks in advance before the race.  I usually have pre-race jitters at these things and today it was just low-key all the way.  I kind of liked it.  Maybe I should pretend to race tomorrow for good measure 🙂
Check out all the loot I got—> Hope you had a great week!

I wish they would have a running club at Henry’s school. He isn’t much for those team sports either (at least at this point). He doesn’t seem to like to compete against other kids, just challenges himself. He loved the rock climbing he got to do at his summer camps and he loves swimming.

  2. @Ann, I am super happy they decided to put together this running club. It is the first year, but there are over 50 kids from K-6 participating. I think a lot of people are participating since it is free and at school.
Rowan is only competitive with his brother. Maybe someday that will change, but for now, I am not going to spend money on something he doesn’t want to do. As long as he is active, that is all that matters.

So who puts it on – volunteer parents or teachers? Do you have any info on it (or is it in their web page) I’d be interested in getting something like that at Henry’s school. They do a Roseville Community 5K in November that the school promotes. If you could get the kids (and hopefully the parents) more interested, then it would help to promote the city’s run even more.

      • It is a Kindergarten teacher and Ro’s 1st grade teacher that started it. Parents volunteer to help and then can also donate a healthy snack for afterwards. Last week they had clementines and bananas that somewhat brought. I will ask Rowans teacher for more info and forward it to you. I bet u could start one. You just need the school to agree to let you use the facilities.

I would very much appreciate getting any information you could for me. I am involved with the PTA at his school so I can bring it up at one of our upcoming meetings. Thanks!
