What’s in your kid’s lunch today?

This is what the school offers for the month of September—>

Yesterday was the first day of school and after working 4 12-hour night shifts over the holiday weekend, I will admit I was a little less than creative with Rowan’s “bag” lunch.  I let him pick the sandwich (he chose PB&J).  He also had carrots, goldfish crackers, and a yogurt.

Here is my handsome 1st grader—>

Today I was a little more creative—>Summer sausage, Colby cheese, rice crackers, peapods, red peppers, and hummus.

Greek yogurt, granola, and fresh berries.  YUM:)

AND a little note from Mama.  Don’t judge my artwork– the kid likes it 🙂  (I don’t know what happened to Mario’s hands in this pic, “F”!)

What do you put in your kid’s lunch?
see above

Do you let them have “hot lunch” at school?
No way!  I can NOT believe they actually call this crap “healthy”-  shame on our schools.

  1. Renee Hall says:

He should be a happy boy today with a lunch like that! (Assume you found a way to deal with the water situation!)

  2. I put the water in a thermos, but he still only drank about 2 sips out of it and then guzzled it in the parking lot at school when I picked him up :/
