“clean burning fuel”

This is an example of what Ryan and I refer to as a “clean burning fuel” meal—->

Nothing fancy…just salmon drizzled with EVOO, sea salt, ground pepper, and fresh parsley, roasted beets, and jasmine rice.   For our family, we can never go wrong with a meal like this.  It is perfect.  Healthy.  Yummy.  Basically, it is just like I said “clean burning fuel!”

Best of all the kids LOVE it too.  I love to watch what they eat on their plates first.  Tonight it was the beets.  LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this!—–>

Next came the salmon—–>

And then they both asked for more beets and salmon.  Man, these are the moments where I feel like I did them right but not giving in to societal norms on food.  My boys are such great eaters.  Sure, they have their moments of whining for pizza, corn dogs, mac’n cheese, but given the option they will eat their fruit and veggies first every time.  Yes, even over the rare french fry.  Mama- 1, Fast Food-0  🙂  Small victories are sometimes the hugest successes.

    I’ve been enjoying reading your blog. I really gotta get motivated to watch my nutrition better (and update my blog more). Exercise I love, watching what I eat..not so much!

    • Thanks! Once you make some simple changes to your diet and stick with it, I promise you won’t want to ever go back to your old ways. I LOVE pizza, but now if I eat a few pieces, I just feel sluggish and my stomach is not happy. It is easier for me to stay on track because my body just doesn’t even want the stuff in it anymore. You can do it! Great job on the 26.2 week 🙂
